Structural symmetry breaking in octupolar tetrastyrylpyrazines and their dipole moments in equilibrium ground and Franck-Condon excited state
2018
Abstract From electrooptical absorption measurements (EOAM) follows that the dipole moment of octupolar tetrastyrylpyrazines in the equilibrium ground state is large and that the change of dipole moments upon transition to the excited Franck–Condon state is significant. Obtained results unambiguously testify to structural symmetry breaking in the studied octupolar tetrastyrylpyrazines. Molecular mechanics and semi-empirical calculations evidence that tetrastyrylpyrazines have non-planar configurations. The non-planar geometry of the molecules causes large μg values and significant change of dipole moment Δaμ after excitation. Due to large μg and Δaμ values the maxima of the first absorption…
Dipole moments of aminophthalimides determined by modified electro-optical absorption and emission measurements
1995
Modified electro-optical absorption and emission methods were used to measure the electric dipole moments of five aminophthalimides in their ground and excited states. The equilibrated ground and excited state dipole moments measured by these methods are in reasonable agreement with those derived from other measurement techniques, confirming the general validity of these methods. A difference is observed between the properties of 3-aminophthalimide (3AP) and 4-amino-N-methylphthalimide (4ANMP) in different solvents. The equilibrated dipole moment of 3AP in its excited state is practically independent of the solvent polarity in contrast with 4ANMP. The possible mechanism of this effect is di…
Dipole Moments and the Direction of the Transition Dipole Moment of Some Intramolecular Exciplexes
1988
The dipole moments of some intramolecular exciplex systems have been determined from the effect of an electric field on their fluorescence and are compared to those estimated from solvent shift measurements. The charge transfer between the donor and acceptor subunits is between 0.6 and 0.9 of a full charge transfer. The face-to-face type exciplexes show considerable deviations from the general behaviour what might be due to some admixture of locally excited configurations to the exciplex wave function, in this way reducing the dipole moment values and changing the direction of the transition dipole moment.
Dipole Moment Surface of the van der Waals Complex CH4–N2
2010
The interaction-induced dipole moment surface of the van der Waals CH(4)-N(2) complex has been calculated for a broad range of intermolecular separations R and configurations in the approximation of the rigid interacting molecules at the MP2 and CCSD(T) levels of theory using the correlation-consistent aug-cc-pVTZ basis set with the basis set superposition error correction. The simple model to account for the exchange effects in the range of small overlap of the electron shells of interacting molecules and the induction and dispersion interactions for large R has been suggested. This model allows describing the dipole moment of van der Waals complexes in analytical form both for large R, wh…
Considerations on the dipole moment of molecules forming the twisted intramolecular charge transfer state
1992
Several derivatives of dual-fluorescing dimethylaminobenzonitrile (DMABN) are compared regarding their ground and excited-state dipole moments extracted from electro-optical emission and solvatochromic measurements. The comparison includes bridged model compounds as well as compounds with different degrees of steric hindrance to planarity, as well as ester and carbazolyl derivatives. The results are discussed on the basis of the twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) model, the most widely accepted model. They show that (i) the dipole moment of the A (TICT) state (long-wavelength band) shows only little solvent sensitivity (polarizability), (ii) this observed small dependence of the …
Unequal rapidity correlators in the dilute limit of the JIMWLK evolution
2019
We study unequal rapidity correlators in the stochastic Langevin picture of Jalilian-Marian-Iancu-McLerran-Weigert-Leonidov-Kovner (JIMWLK) evolution in the color glass condensate effective field theory. We discuss a diagrammatic interpretation of the long-range con elators. By separately evolving the Wilson lines in the direct and complex conjugate amplitudes, we use the formalism to study two-particle production at large rapidity separations. We show that the evolution between the rapidities of the two produced particles can be expressed as a linear equation, even in the full nonlinear limit. We also show how the Langevin formalism for two-particle correlations reduces to a Balitsky-Fadin…
Simultaneous determination of eight underivatised biogenic amines in fish by solid phase extraction and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometr…
2010
Biogenic amines on fish tissue are formed as a result of bacterial contamination and spoilage during storage. A new method based on liquid chromatography (LC) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) using a triple quadrupole (QqQ) analyser was developed for the analysis of eight biogenic amines (cadaverine, histamine, phenylethylamine, putrescine, spermine, spermidine, tyramine and tryptamine) in fish tissues. Sample preparation was performed by extraction with trichloroacetic acid 5% and solid phase extraction clean up with STRATA X cartridge. The MS/MS method was validated and compared with a method based on the analysis of dansyl derivatives by LC and fluorescence detector (FD). MS/MS achie…
The chemical bonds in CuH, Cu2, NiH, and Ni2 studied with multiconfigurational second order perturbation theory
1994
The performance of multiconfigurational second order perturbation theory has been analyzed for the description of the bonding in CuH, Cu2, NiH, and Ni2. Large basis sets based on atomic natural orbitals (ANOS) were employed. The effects of enlarging the active space and including the core‐valence correlation contributions have also been analyzed. Spectroscopic constants have been computed for the corresponding ground state. The Ni2 molecule has been found to have a 0+g ground state with a computed dissociation energy of 2.10 eV, exp. 2.09 eV, and a bond distance of 2.23 Å. The dipole moments of NiH and CuH are computed to be 2.34 (exp. 2.4±0.1) and 2.66 D, respectively. pou@uv.es ; merchan@…
The Ramsey method in high-precision mass spectrometry with Penning traps: Experimental results
2007
The highest precision in direct mass measurements is obtained with Penning trap mass spectrometry. Most experiments use the interconversion of the magnetron and cyclotron motional modes of the stored ion due to excitation by external radiofrequency-quadrupole fields. In this work a new excitation scheme, Ramsey's method of time-separated oscillatory fields, has been successfully tested. It has been shown to reduce significantly the uncertainty in the determination of the cyclotron frequency and thus of the ion mass of interest. The theoretical description of the ion motion excited with Ramsey's method in a Penning trap and subsequently the calculation of the resonance line shapes for differ…
Theory of simultaneous dipole and quadrupole excitation of the ion motion in a Penning trap
2012
Abstract Penning traps confine ions of atoms and molecules as well as other charged particles by a combination of static electric and magnetic fields to the central region of the trap, where these objects can be studied. Most experiments employ pulses of dipolar radio-frequency radiation followed by pulses of quadrupolar radio-frequency radiation to manipulate the motional state of the trapped particles. Instead of a sequential procedure an excitation of the ion motion by the simultaneous application of dipolar and quadrupolar rf-fields is also conceivable. This paper investigates the theory of simultaneous excitation under very general assumptions, with inclusion of possible damping terms.…
